At least 10 people were injured in a clash between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir activists at the capital’s Dhaka Polytechnic Institute. The clash took place at midnight on Monday (March 2). It is learnt that Chhatra Dal and Shibir leaders and activists first started arguing over dominance on the campus. At one point, it turned into a clash. There were also incidents of chasing and counter-chasing between the two sides.
The college administration said that the injured would be taken to Dhaka Medical Hospital for treatment. Police conducted searches to bring the situation under control. Later, it was announced that outsiders would be removed from the hall based on the students’ complaints and that a compromise would be reached with both sides. However, the police did not arrest anyone in the incident.
