Rupganj (Narayanganj) Correspondent: Two workers were killed after a crane wire broke and fell on two workers in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The incident took place at around 6 pm yesterday, Sunday (March 1) at Tricom Ghat in Ganganagar area of ​​Murapara union of the upazila. The deceased were identified as Alamin (32), son of Ratan Mia of Naukhada area of ​​Taraj police station in Sirajganj district, and Amin Mia (26), son of Sutka Mia of Shahidpur area of ​​Nador of the same police station. Assistant Superintendent of Police B-Circle of Narayanganj district Mehedi Islam confirmed the death of the two workers.
Locals and eyewitnesses said that there is a ghat for unloading goods of Tricom Group on the banks of Shitalakshya river in Ganganagar area of ​​Murapara union. The owner of the ghat is a businessman named Kajal Ghosh. Around 6 pm yesterday, crane driver Aminul Islam was unloading wheat from a ship using a crane. At that time, three workers were working under the crane. At that time, the crane wire working under a crane fell and a person named Alamin died on the spot. At that time, another person died on the way to the hospital. At that time, another worker named Mishu was injured.
Ghat Sardar Mohammad Omar Faruk said, the crane fell on the wire and two workers died. I am currently with them at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Their families are being contacted. The names of the two deceased are Alamin. At that time, Rupganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sadequr Rahman said, we came to the spot and heard that two people died after the crane wire broke.
