An Iftar mahfil was held at the house of a UK BNP worker in Osmaninagar, Sylhet. After the matter came to light, the BNP worker paid the price to the owner of the cow. The caretaker of the UK expatriate’s house admitted responsibility for the incident in the village arbitration.
After investigation, it was learned that M Ahmed alias Madhu Mia, a UK expatriate from Golmukapon village in West Pailonpur Union of Osmaninagar, is involved in UK BNP politics. He came to the country in January to participate in the election campaign of Sylhet-2 constituency BNP candidate Tahsina Rushdir Luna. After the election, he organized an Iftar mahfil at his house on February 24. Later, it was learned that the cow slaughtered at the Iftar mahfil was stolen. The incident of bringing the stolen cow home was captured on the CCTV camera of the expatriate’s house.
A resident of the area said in this regard, M Ahmed alias Madhu Mia is a gentleman. He had given money to buy a cow for an Iftar party during Ramadan. But his employee embezzled the money and stole a cow. He later paid the price of the cow. The cow’s owner, Nazmul Islam, said that Saeed, the caretaker of the expatriate’s house, stole the cow from the field. After learning about the matter, the expatriate, M. Ahmed, paid the fair price for the cow. He is not at fault.
