Baltic dry index drops d-o-d as CNY holidays temper market activity
The Baltic Dry Index dropped by 0.2% (5 points) d-o-d to 2,095 points on 17 Feb’26 after hitting 2-week high yesterday. The decline was driven by slowing activity, particularly in the Capesize segment, as China entered the New Year holidays.

- Capesize: BCI dropped 0.5% (15 points) to 3,194.
- Panamax: BPI rose 0.4% (7 points) to 1,792.
- Supramax: BSI decreased 0.3% (4 points) to 1,194.
