India: Melting scrap prices increase by INR 200/t d-o-d in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 7 Feb’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,500/t ($370/t) exy. Trade activities in semi-finished and finished steel improved in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session in the region. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to increase their offers today.
