Bangladesh: Non-coking coal imports gain momentum amid stronger supplier flows
Bangladesh’s non-coking coal imports increased to 2.12 mnt in Jan’26, reflecting a 13% m-o-m rise from 1.88 mnt in Dec’25 and a 13% y-o-y increase compared to 1.87 mnt in Jan25, indicating firmer procurement by end-users. Indonesia remained the leading supplier, exporting 1.88 mnt, up 3% m-o-m and 13% y-o-y. Meanwhile, South African exports surged to 0.25 mnt, marking a sharp m-o-m jump and a 62% y-o-y increase.
