Baltic dry index eases amid seasonal slowdown, softer Capesize rates
The Baltic Dry Index dipped by 0.67% (13 points) d-o-d to 1,923 points on 6 Feb’26. It declined amid weaker Capesize demand, largely driven by softer iron ore cargo volumes and a seasonal slowdown around the Lunar New Year period.

- Capesize: BCI dropped by 1.12% (33 points) to 2,918.
- Panamax: BPI declined by 0.42% (7 points) to 1,652.
- Supramax: BSI increased by 0.18% (2 points) to 1,104.
