Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap purchase prices at Kyushu, keeps rates unchanged at other plants
Tokyo Steel revised its scrap purchase prices for the second time this month, effective January 27, 2026. The company cut prices by JPY 500 ($3/t) at its Kyushu plant, while keeping rates unchanged at other facilities. Price revisions at the Takamatsu plant remain suspended.

- Kyushu: JPY 43,500/t ($284/t).
- Tahara, Okayama, Nagoya, Kansai, Utsunomiya and Tokyo Bay: JPY 44,000/t ($287/t).
