China: Iron ore prices fall over $1/dmt d-o-d
Iron ore fines (Fe 61%) spot prices dropped by $1.45/dmt d-o-d to $104.45/dmt CFR China on 19 Jan’26. The decline came as downstream demand softened, with expectations of steel output cuts and rising port stocks weighing on sentiment and limiting mill buying. Mills have trimmed blast furnace operations ahead of the Lunar New Year and are purchasing only on a need basis.
