New internet speed package announced without increasing prices
In order to ensure better digital services to its customers, Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has announced to increase the speed of its internet packages by up to 3 times. However, the monthly price has been kept completely unchanged. The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology gave this information in a notification today, Sunday (January 11).
It said that with this new initiative, customers will be able to enjoy much faster internet services than before at the same cost; which will add a new dimension to online education, official work, video streaming, gaming and smart service usage.
According to the new package, the ‘Affordable-5’ package of 5 Mbps for 399 taka has now been upgraded to the ‘Affordable-20’ package of 20 Mbps. Similarly, the 12 Mbps ‘Affordable-12’ package for 500 taka has now been upgraded to the 25 Mbps ‘Affordable-25’ package and the 15 Mbps ‘Campus-15’ package for 500 taka has now been upgraded to the 50 Mbps ‘Campus-50’ package.
In addition, the 15 Mbps ‘Affordable-15’ package for 800 taka has now been upgraded to the 50 Mbps ‘Affordable-50’ package, the 20 Mbps ‘Affordable-20’ package for 1050 taka has now been upgraded to the 100 Mbps ‘Affordable-100’ package and the 25 Mbps ‘Affordable-25’ package for 1150 taka has now been upgraded to the 120 Mbps ‘Affordable-120’ package.
At the same time, the 30 Mbps ‘Sasta-30’ package of 1300 rupees has now been converted to 130 Mbps ‘Sasta-130’, the 40 Mbps ‘Sasta-40’ package of 1500 rupees has now been converted to 150 Mbps ‘Sasta-150’ and the 50 Mbps ‘Sasta-50’ package of 1700 rupees has now been converted to 170 Mbps ‘Sasta-170’ package.
BTCL believes that this initiative will ensure more reliable, fast and quality internet services for its customers and further advance the digital transformation of the country. Stating that ensuring customer satisfaction and quality services is the main goal of the organization, the authorities said that this customer-friendly initiative will continue in the future as well. In addition, BTCL expressed gratitude to its customers for their continued trust and cooperation.
