Maduro’s arrest in raid violates international law: Mamdani

Last Saturday (January 3) at midnight local time, US forces carried out a raid in Venezuela and detained President Nicolas Maduro. New York Mayor Zohram Mamdani condemned the incident. He called the attack a violation of international law.
Zohram was sworn in as New York’s mayor on the first day of the new year. Less than a week after taking office, he opened up about Venezuela.
According to US media outlet CNN News, Zohram Mamdani condemned the arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife Celia Florence, saying that it was a despicable act of war. It is also a violation of national and international law.
