Baltic Dry Index posts marginal gains on Panamax support post holiday
The Baltic dry index inched up by 0.26% to stood at 1,882 on 2 Jan’26 against 24 Dec. The marginal rise in the index was driven by a gradual resumption of chartering activity, with Panamax demand improving on fresh coal and grain enquiries as traders returned to the market.

- Capesize: BCI declined 6.35% (211 points) to 3,108.
- Panamax: BPI up by 1.18% (15 points) to 1,282.
- Supramax: BSI dropped by 5.94% (68 points) to 1,076.
