India: Melting scrap prices rise by INR 200/t d-o-d in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 24 Dec. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 31,500/t ($351/t) exy. The regional market witnessed active trading, supported by a INR 300-500/t rise in semi-finished and finished steel prices. Additionally, improved buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
