Worker dies after falling from under-construction building
A construction worker named Md. Jewel (46) died after falling while working on an under-construction building in the capital. He was seriously injured after falling from the third floor of a seven-storey building in the Urdu Road area of Chawkbazar police station at 1:15 pm yesterday (November 29). His colleague Md. Manik said that Jewel was working on a ring on the third floor of the building when he accidentally fell. He was immediately rescued in a critical condition and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
He further said that the village home of the deceased Jewel is in Narshedpur village of Adamdighi police station in Bogra district. His father’s name is Mohammad Yunus Mia. He currently lives in an under-construction building on Urdu Road. Md. Faruk, in-charge of DMCH Hospital Police Camp, confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in the emergency department morgue. The concerned Chawkbazar police station has been informed about the incident.
