NCP preparing to contest from 300 seats: Nahid

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said that it is preparing to contest from 300 seats in the upcoming national elections. He said this at a briefing on the ongoing political situation in the country at the NCP’s temporary office in Bangla Motor in the capital on Sunday (November 2).
Nahid Islam said, “So far, we are moving forward with 300 seats. We can finalize our candidate list this month itself. Then we will see who is standing from where. Many of us are working in our respective areas.” In response to a question, Nahid Islam said that he is likely to contest from Dhaka.
Stating that the NCP wants quick elections, he said, “Although we are a new political party. We have had to shoulder a lot of things in this one year. We did not get that time to form the party. However, whether our preparations are less or more, we never think of postponing the elections.”
Nahid said, “Quick elections, elections in February, are essential for the stability of the country. As a result, we will complete all our preparations by February.” Stating that the NCP has entered the field with a long-term plan, he said, ‘All our plans are not centered around this election. We are newly formed. We have entered the field with a long-term plan. This election is our first challenge, it will be our first test. We will participate in it. Whether we do good or bad, the people will consider it.’
