National Citizens Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari has said that BNP is trying to sabotage the referendum. He said that there will be elections in Bangladesh after the referendum. He said this at a press conference on the July Charter at the party’s temporary office at Bangla Motor in the capital on Wednesday (October 29) afternoon.
NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari said that on the basis of the mass uprising, an order should be issued under the signature of Dr. Muhammad Yunus. On which order will the referendum be held. We are not taking any specific position on the time frame.
He said that when an election is held in Bangladesh after the referendum, through which a reform rally will be held, then this reform rally will do two things at once. The first is to implement this order, they will perform the routine work that the parliament of Bangladesh does.
The NCP leader said that there is a lot of debate in the country about the referendum. It will happen sooner or later. We will not enter into a debate. We think this debate is a terrible war between Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP. The nation cannot be involved in this terrible war and cannot create obstacles in the way of implementing the legal basis of the July Charter.
He said, the mass uprising must be brought as the basis of the July Charter. As a government of the mass uprising, the chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will go to Shaheed Minar to sign the July Charter order. The historic decision of the people must be given before the people.
