India and fascists are creating unrest in Khagrachari: Home Affairs Advisor
Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that a group is trying to create chaos in Khagrachari. He said, ‘India and fascists are creating unrest in Khagrachari.’
He said this in response to questions from journalists after inaugurating the construction of administrative-cum-barracks buildings for five DMP police stations in Ramna on Monday (September 29) afternoon.
The Home Affairs Advisor said, ‘We are taking all possible measures to ensure that no incident takes place in the hills fueled by India and fascists.’
He said, ‘A group is trying to create chaos in Khagrachari. The biggest religious festival of the Sanatan religion followers is going on in the country. We are making all kinds of preparations to celebrate this festival peacefully. But a group is trying to ensure that this festival does not go well. A group is trying to create an unstable environment in Khagrachari.’
He also said, ‘Some terrorists are firing from the top of the hill. These weapons often come from outside. I don’t want to name the country, but the journalist brother has named the country. Everyone’s help and cooperation will be needed to prevent this.’
The Home Affairs Advisor said that the Chittagong Hill Tracts Advisor is at the spot and is investigating the overall situation.
In response to questions from journalists, the Home Affairs Advisor said that most of the tourists stranded in Khagrachari have already been brought back.
