Gas cylinder explosion in Chittagong, 4 burnt, admitted to Burn Institute in Dhaka
Four workers burnt in a gas cylinder explosion in Satkania, Chittagong, have been brought to the emergency department of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital. They were rescued around 12 midnight last Wednesday (September 17) and admitted to the Burn Institute.
The burnt workers are Mahbubur Rahman (45), Idris Ali (27), Riaz Uddin (20) and Yusuf Ali (32). All the injured are permanent residents of Baltoli village in Chandanaish upazila of Chittagong.
According to the relatives of the injured, the explosion occurred suddenly this Wednesday morning while the workers were storing gas cylinders in a warehouse. 4 workers were burnt in it.
Later, they were rescued and first taken to a local hospital. Then, they were taken to the National Burn Institute in Dhaka at night for advanced treatment. Doctors said that the condition of all of them is critical.
It is worth noting that 50% of Mahbubur Rahman’s body, 60% of Idris Ali’s, 42% of Riaz Uddin’s and 57% of Yusuf Ali’s were burned.
