I have ordered the arrest of fascists: DIG Rezaul
Dhaka Range DIG Md. Rezaul Karim Mallick said that those who are fascists should be brought under the law. I have ordered their arrest. He said this at a press conference at Bhanga Police Station Complex around 12 midnight last Monday (September 15).
Md. Rezaul Karim Mallick said, we have talked about the issue of maintaining law and order and the security of the people. I have talked to the DC of Faridpur. I have talked to the DC about maintaining law and order, yesterday’s (Monday) incident and the peace of the people. I have talked to the people in charge of security in the incident on Monday. I have given them instructions in this regard. They will do whatever they have to do.
He said, 4-5 of my policemen were injured in yesterday’s (Monday) incident. As a law enforcement force, we will take legal action on the incident on Monday.
DIG Rezaul also said, “I have assigned the responsibility of the district police for all the damage caused to the Bhanga police station in yesterday’s (Monday) incident and the responsibility of the damage to the Upazila Parishad to the Deputy Commissioner.”
Regarding the attack, vandalism and arson, Faridpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamrul Hasan Molla said, “We have spoken to the Election Commission. We have sent a report highlighting the emotions and feelings of the people. They will consider the report. Also, since a writ has been filed in the High Court regarding the issue of cutting off 2 unions, there is a possibility of a hearing on the 21st. Then we will know in which direction the matter is actually moving.”
He said, “I request the people of Bhangar to come back from their programmes and wait for the time. We understand the emotions and feelings of the people. We are working on that issue. Those involved in yesterday’s (Monday) incident will be brought to justice. I would again request the people of Bhangar to come back from their programmes and wait for the time. The extent of the damage will be seen on the spot and can be said later,” the DC added.
