39 accused in July-August cases
39 accused, including former MPs, ministers and police officers, have been presented to the International Crimes Tribunal in 7 cases of crimes against humanity in the July-August uprising. They were presented to the tribunal in separate prison vans on Sunday (July 20) morning. 14 people, including Anisul Haque, were brought to the tribunal from Keraniganj Central Jail on this day. 14 people, including former NTMC director Ziaul Ahsan, came from Keraniganj Special Jail. 15 people, including Dipu Moni, were presented from Kashimpur Jail and Golam Dastagir Gazi from Narayanganj Jail. In addition, Salman F. Rahman, Anisul Haque, Junaid Ahmed Palak, and 9 former ministers, former MPs, and police officers are among the accused. The prosecution said that since the investigation is not over, time will be applied for in all the cases. Incidentally, these former ministers, MPs, and police officers were arrested at various times after the Awami League government fell on August 5 in a student uprising.
